| Apprentice Automotive Technician | | | Qualifications - Strong interest in pursuing automotive technical training as a career
- Minimum completion of high school diploma or GED
- Prior experience in the automotive trades preferred, but not necessary
- Basic safety equipment (CSA certified footwear and eye protection)
- Willing to invest in tools and equipment required to perform automotive repairs
Main duties Under the direction of a Licensed Automotive Technician- Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications
- Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups
- Assist with daily shop maintenance and upkeep on a daily basis
- Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools
Employment requirements - Ability to work full time, overtime as required, often on short notice.
- Willing to provide or invest in adequate tools required to service varied makes and models of vehicles
- Must demonstrate ability to learn and follow systems accurately
- Willingness to learn facility specific systems and adhere to performance guidelines
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication in English mandatory
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication in French a strong asset
